The New York City Department of Education had a problematic sewage ejector system at a Junior High School in Brooklyn, NY. Their old system was a duplex vertical-style shaft-driven sewage pump. They requested that Fleet provide replacement equipment to fix the problem. Our experience in this area made us a natural choice.

The school had been experiencing:

  • clogging
  • alternation issues and run hours
  • long and bulky repairs for the shaft
  • foul odor resulting from a non-sealed frame and cover
  • ball float rod binding
  • relatively no alarm functionality

To resolve the problem, we provided our SubRig, Flygt/Fleetway solution. It includes two new Flygt Submersible guide rail style pumps, a Duplex Fleetway control panel, an FPS-DJB to better organize cabling and odor control, a new odor-tight aluminum frame and cover with a single access hatch for pump removal and servicing, a pressure transducer for primary level sensing and a float for back up. After installation and the problem solved, the client was very happy.
